How does Wordseal work?
A Wordseal record starts in three steps: one of you writes it, the other person confirms it from their own phone, and if you like, someone you both know becomes the witness. Once confirmed the record is sealed; payments are marked with "I paid" and "I got it", and when everything is paid the record closes.
- Write the recordWho, how much or what (any currency, or gold), and when.
- Send the invitationShare the link on WhatsApp or the short code. The other person confirms with their own account, even from a browser.
- Follow it togetherMark payments as they happen; both of you see the same record and its timeline.
Who starts the record?
Either of you. The borrower or the lender writes it, and it starts when the other person confirms.
What if the other person has no app?
They tap the link and see the record in their browser. They confirm with their own account, so nothing needs to be downloaded.
When does the seal appear?
The gold seal appears once the other person has confirmed the record with their own account. A record that is still waiting shows no seal. Witnesses don't affect the seal; they're listed separately.
How is a payment recorded?
The borrower taps "I paid" for all or part of the amount, and the lender taps "I got it". If it never arrived, one tap says so. When everything is paid, the record closes.
What if it was written wrong?
If you both agree, the record is canceled. If one of you objects, they add a note and the record is flagged; nobody changes it alone.
What happens when a record is overdue?
The record shows it neutrally. The lender can choose to remind the witnesses; nothing is sent automatically.
Next time, say "let's write it down."
