What is a witness?
Wordseal is a social witnessing app: the people you trust know what was agreed. A witness is a third, trusted person who can see the record between two people and is told what happens to it. Their job is memory: when "that's not what I said" comes up, there is a record to check. In Wordseal you can invite witnesses to each record.
Why isn't a one-person notebook enough?
A notebook is only your memory. In Wordseal the other person confirms the record too, and a witness who knows you both can follow it, so the story is the same in every head.
What does a witness see?
The record: who, how much or what, the due date, and the timeline of payments.
When does a witness hear about something?
When a payment is confirmed as received, and when the lender chooses to remind the witnesses about an overdue record.
Who should I pick?
Someone you both know and trust: a mutual friend, a sibling, a neighbor. Premium allows up to 10 witnesses per record.
Is witnessing free?
Yes. Witnessing is free, and it works from the link, without the app.
Next time, say "let's write it down."
iPhone and Android apps coming soon.
