How do you keep track of gold you lent?
Gold pinned at a wedding, a bracelet lent for an occasion, a few grams passed along: these are the easiest things to forget. In Wordseal you write the gold exactly as you gave it, the other person confirms, and someone you trust can witness it. Let's write it down so years later nobody argues "how many was it?"
Which gold can I write down?
Quarter, half and full coins, Ata, Reşat, gremse and beşli by the piece; 24k, 22k, 21k and 18k gold by the gram; bracelets in 22k, 21k, 18k and 14k. Wedding gifts and lent pieces are recorded the same way.
Who pinned what at the ceremony is one of the things people argue about most, years later.
Does the gold come back, or something in its place?
The two of you decide together, and it goes in the note when you open the record. Wordseal does not show live gold prices; if you talk about an equivalent, you work it out from a source you trust.
That ends the "this is how I remember it" argument at the start.
What about gold given at a wedding?
Write who gave which piece and to whom. The family confirms it. Years later, when it is time to return the gesture, the list is there and nobody has to rely on memory alone.
Can gold come back in parts?
Yes. If two of four quarter coins have come back, you mark them with "I paid" and "I got it", and the other two stay visible. Partial payments are free.
Everyone sees the same count, so nobody argues later.
What if the older relatives do not use apps?
They only need to tap the link and confirm; the app is not required. You write the record, they see it in the browser and confirm.
They do not need to set anything up; you follow the returned pieces in the record.
Should I add a witness?
With gold that stays out a long time, yes, it is a good idea. A relative you both know can witness it. It is free.
Questions people ask
Can I record gold?
Yes. Quarter, half and full coins, Ata and Reşat, 24k, 22k, 21k and 18k gold by the gram, 22k, 21k, 18k and 14k bracelets. You both agree on what form the repayment takes; live prices are not shown.
What does a witness do?
They see the record and get notified when it is paid. Their only job is to remember what you both agreed.
What if I made a mistake?
If you both agree, the record is canceled. If one of you objects, they add a note and the record is flagged; nobody can change it alone.
Next time, say "let's write it down."
iPhone and Android apps coming soon.
