How do you record money lent to a relative?
Saying "let's write it down" to a relative can feel awkward, but asking for a record is not distrust. It is memory. In Wordseal you both see and confirm the same record, and a trusted relative can witness it. In families, money is rarely the hurtful part; "that is not how I remember it" is.
Is it rude to ask for a record in the family?
No. Years later two people can remember the same amount differently. That is not bad faith, just being human. Writing it together at the start prevents small hurts later.
Think of it as a habit that looks after both of you.
How do you open the record?
Write who, how much and when. The one who borrowed can write it too. Send the link, and the other person confirms from their phone or their browser.
Age and closeness make no difference; the record is the same for everyone.
Who is a fitting witness?
Someone in the family you both respect: an older sister, an uncle, a close relative. The witness follows the record and hears when a payment is marked.
If an elder is the witness, the matter lands somewhere the family already respects.
What if repayment will be regular?
Partial payments are free, and the remainder is always visible. If it is a set amount on a set day each month, an installment plan (Premium) adds a reminder for each installment.
With or without an installment plan, the remainder stays in view.
What if an older relative cannot use the app?
The app is not required. Tapping the link and confirming is enough, and you can follow the payments with them. The record sits in front of both of you.
Will reminders strain the relationship?
Wordseal puts no pressure on anyone. The due date is shown neutrally and notifications carry no amount. Reminding the witnesses is a deliberate choice the lender makes; nothing goes out on its own.
In families, most hurt comes from tone, and Wordseal's tone is calm.
Questions people ask
What does a witness do?
They see the record and get notified when it is paid. Their only job is to remember what you both agreed.
What if I made a mistake?
If you both agree, the record is canceled. If one of you objects, they add a note and the record is flagged; nobody can change it alone.
What if the other person doesn't have the app?
They just tap the link. They see the record in the browser and confirm with their own account; no download needed.
