What can you use instead of a paper ledger?

In a paper ledger only you write, and the customer never sees it. In Wordseal the customer confirms the record from their own phone, so you both see the same line. The answer to "who owes me" sits in your pocket. Write it down, get it confirmed, tap "I got it" when it is paid.

Why is a paper book not enough?

Books get lost, smudged or hard to read. Most of all, they leave room for "that is not what I took". With a shared record, the customer confirms at the start.

No more lines lost between pages or numbers rubbed out. The record opens wherever your phone does, so you do not need to think about a backup.

Does the customer have to install an app?

No. They tap a link, see the record in the browser and confirm. You do not have to teach anyone a new app.

It makes things easier for you and for the customer. They see what they took from the start, so "I did not take that much" has no room. Nobody is offended, because the record is shared.

How do I see who owes me?

All your open records appear on your phone: who, how much and since when. When a customer pays in part, you tap "I got it" and the remainder updates itself.

You do not add anything up yourself; the list is ready. Each customer shows the open record, the remainder and the due date, so at day's end one glance replaces flipping through a book.

How do I remind a customer without embarrassing them?

The due date is shown neutrally and notifications carry no amount. If you want, a mutual acquaintance can witness the record.

Can regular customers pay in installments?

Yes. Partial payments are free. If payments fall on set days, an installment plan is available in Premium.

For a regular neighborhood customer, this is the easiest way. Payments can arrive in small pieces and it is fine; the remainder updates every time.

How many records can I keep?

The free plan limits how many open records you start at once. With many customers, Premium allows up to 200 open records at a time. The price is shown in the store.

If your business grows, Premium is there; to start, the basics are enough.

Questions people ask

What if the other person doesn't have the app?

They just tap the link. They see the record in the browser and confirm with their own account; no download needed.

Who can start a record?

Either of you. The borrower or the lender can write it; it starts when the other confirms.

What's free and what's Premium?

Inviting, confirming, witnessing and marking payments or partial payments are always free; on the free plan you can start 2 open records at a time. Premium: up to 200 open records at a time, installment plans, up to 10 witnesses per record, no ads. The price is shown in the store.
